Much like a jeweler restores a precious gem, your marble, granite, travertine, terrazzo, and limestone can be honed to a rich satin patina or polished to a mirror-like shine.
So if you notice that the marble on your floor or kitchen countertop is looking a bit dull and has lost some of its pizzaz, we can bring it back to life. Or we can give it new life with a change of finish.
Honed finish
A honed finish is satin-like, or velvety to the touch, but without the reflective shine of polished marble. It's also called a matte finish. A honed marble finish is less slippery and is ideal for high traffic areas like bathrooms or entryways. Scratches are less obvious on honed surfaces since they don't have the glossy shine of polished marble.
Polished finish
Nothing says "wow!" like highly polished natural stone. After all, it's shiny! Just remember that a polished finish will tend to show wear more quickly and may require more frequent attention to keep looking it's best.
